The answer to this question is "NO"; any exercise, done regularly is fine. Now the more intense the exercise, the more stress you can burn off quicker. But choose an exercise that you can do comfortably and build up the intensity as you get stronger.
You do need to take into consideration any physical limitations you may have when selecting how to exercise. Don't think you can be a stressed-out couch potato one minute and a super bodybuilder the next minute. Start slow if you have not been active for a while.
Some Examples of Exercises to Burn Stress
Aerobics are very effective for working off stress. This type of exercise uses the main groups of muscles in the body. Running, walking, cycling and swimming are examples of this kind of exercise. Doing these can strengthen the cardiovascular system. To get the great benefits from this type of exercising you must work up to about 60 to 80 percent of your targeted heart rate and hold it for about 20 minutes.
You could also do either resistance training or weight training too, for your exercise choice. These are examples of Isotonic exercise that works by the muscles contracting against something.
It is recommended that you exercise 3 to 4 days a week about 20 minutes at a time. You do not have to hit the gym to do your exercising either; you can do it on your own at home. You will be able to exercise and stress will leave. So simply start being more active if you are stressed out, exercise reduces stress very effectively.
